So I have both kids at home today and what better thing to do than put on Season One of the Muppet Show? My kids have been enjoying it and really? I have loved it as well but why oh WHY would they let Florence Henderson sing? PAINFUL. And I kept hoping that, during the singing number, Animal would come flying out and tackle her and put us out of our misery but NO. Just a flighty butterfly floating around occasionally. Nothing to distract you from the horrible, horrible strangled gargling coming out of her.
During the next number Lucy looked at me and said, "Mama, she isn't a very good singer, is she? I think all the monsters make her sound a little better but only when they are singing with her."
Seems Lucy's channeling Simon Cowell and I like it.

Oh, The Muppet Show. My girls haven't gotten into that one yet. They HAVE discovered the wonders of Fraggle Rock, however, and not one appearance of Florence Henderson yet!
Look, The Muppet Show is a classic BECAUSE it was the only place "B" List celebrities could showcase their lesser known (for a reason) talents.
My favorite part of Fraggle Rock was the hair. Which came first, Fraggle Rock or green-haired trolls stuck on the tip of your pencil?
